Here in Ellicott City, we are removing old tile and carpet and installing new wood floors. This is “value grade” or what is known in the hardwood flooring industry as “cabin grade”. Value grade flooring make hardwood floors affordable for almost any budget. The most noticeable difference between value grade hardwood and 1st quality hardwood is simply more naturally occurring character in the hardwood itself. Due to milling and finishing, imperfections such as small knots and color/grain variations can occur, as well as possibly shorter average board length. You can see these variations on this floor, but it’s much better than worn carpet and old tile. – Jon and the BCR Team 🙂
