Choosing flooring for basements requires you to consider different factors as opposed to other areas of the home. Basements are prone to excess moisture, can have a damp environment, or even water damage. If you want to check for moisture in the concrete of your basement floor, tape a large square piece of clear vinyl down using duct tape (at least a square foot) at a time when the floor in very dry. Leave it for a while, and if there is any water or moisture in it, you’ll know its coming through the concrete, or you can just call us at Baltimore Carpet Repair to have us discuss several options. We just completed a basement floor for a client in Fells Point using a high end vinyl installed with pressure sensitive glue. Great for leaky basements!
