Gina called because they had a Berber run about 2 feet long.  Berber is good because it wears better than cut pile, BUT it damages more easily.  In this case the office chair caught one of the Berber loops and the rest is history.  Make sure to get your Berber repaired sooner than later otherwise it will get much worse very quickly.
